The play ‘The Heart of a Bell’, based on the Chinese tale of the same title, is a story about a sacrifice for the other man and search for perfect beauty. Our main interest lied in the visual side of the play, inspired with traditional Japanese aesthetics, called Sabi-Wabi, where beauty is observed, in which is natural and poor. Excerpts of traditional, Japanese Noh Theatre dramas were used in the script as well as haiku.
